Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully implemented a water conservation project at Anusaya Mata Mandir Talav in Babhale village, Shahapur Taluka, during the year 2024. This project was undertaken to strengthen a vital local water body and ensure consistent water availability for the surrounding community, especially during periods of seasonal scarcity.
The initiative enhanced the water storage capacity of the talav to an estimated 8,40,000 liters. This conserved water now serves as a reliable source for domestic use, supporting the daily needs of village households. In addition, the talav provides essential water for cattle, contributing to better livestock health and supporting the livelihoods of rural families dependent on animal husbandry.
By rejuvenating Anusaya Mata Mandir Talav, the project has also aided groundwater recharge and improved the overall water balance of the area. The work was carried out with active community involvement and was financed by Naam and Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, highlighting a collaborative approach toward sustainable water resource management.
Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal continues its mission to conserve and restore traditional water sources, ensuring long-term water security and resilience against drought in rural regions.
