Bandeshet-1

Bandeshet-1

The village of Bandeshet-1 in Murbad Taluka has long struggled with limited water availability, affecting household needs, cattle care, and agricultural potential. To create a sustainable and dependable water source for the community, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with generous financial support from Mahindra Finance, implemented a major water conservation project in 2025.

At the heart of this initiative is the construction of a large water storage structure with an estimated capacity of 94,00,000 liters. This reservoir has significantly improved water access throughout the year, ensuring reliable supply during dry periods and reducing the hardships faced by villagers. The improved water availability has greatly benefitted domestic use and ensured sufficient water for cattle, which are crucial for rural livelihoods.

Although the cultivation area is unspecified, the enhanced water security is expected to support agricultural activities and encourage future expansion of irrigation. Additionally, the project has strengthened groundwater recharge and promoted environmental stability across the region.

By addressing water scarcity, this initiative has improved living conditions and boosted the socio-economic resilience of Bandeshet (upper).
