A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully implemented at Bandhanpada Village, Wada, to address the challenge of water scarcity and encourage sustainable water management practices in the community. The project was designed to collect and store rainwater effectively, contributing to groundwater recharge and ensuring reliable access to water for daily needs.
This initiative was generously supported by Praj Foundation and was completed in May 2024, with a total expenditure of ₹3,55,500. The system has the capacity to harvest approximately 6,70,500 litres of rainwater annually, significantly boosting water availability and improving the resilience of the community to seasonal water shortages.
The project directly benefits 125 households, enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing dependable access to water and promoting awareness about the importance of conservation. The successful completion of the project was made possible through the collaboration of Praj Foundation, the implementing team, and the active participation of the local residents. Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Bandhanpada Village stands as a shining example of how partnerships and sustainable solutions can bring about long-term positive change, fostering water security and environmental stewardship in rural communities.
