Bardepada

In 2019, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal (VSM) successfully executed a major water conservation project in Bardepada, located in Taluka Shahapur. The village had long struggled with seasonal water scarcity, affecting both household needs and livestock care. To address this pressing issue, VSM undertook the construction of a large-capacity water storage structure designed to provide lasting relief to the community.

With an impressive water storage capacity of 72,60,000 liters, this project has significantly enhanced the village’s water security. Built at a cost of ₹5.98 lakhs and fully financed by VSM, the structure now ensures consistent water availability throughout the year. The project also supports 50 acres of cultivation land, enabling farmers to irrigate their fields more effectively and improve agricultural productivity.

Beyond agriculture, the water conserved through this initiative has become a dependable source for domestic use and cattle, reducing the strain on villagers who previously faced long distances and uncertainty when fetching water. This intervention has led to better living conditions, improved livestock health, and strengthened the overall sustainability of Bardepada.
