Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully completed a water conservation project at Bayancha Talav in Babhale village, Shahapur Taluka, in the year 2024. This initiative was undertaken to address recurring water shortages and to strengthen a traditional water source that plays a vital role in meeting the daily water needs of the local community.
Through careful planning and effective execution, the project enhanced the lake’s capacity to store an estimated 1,65,000 liters of water. This improvement has ensured a more dependable water supply throughout the year, particularly during the summer months when water scarcity is most severe. The conserved water is now used for domestic purposes, significantly easing the daily burden on villagers, and also serves as an important source of drinking and utility water for cattle.
By restoring and conserving Bayancha Talav, the project has contributed to better groundwater recharge and improved water availability in the surrounding area. The initiative was financed jointly by Naam and Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, reflecting a strong partnership focused on sustainable water management and rural development.
Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal remains committed to rejuvenating local water bodies and promoting long-term water security for villages across the region.
