Chillarwadi

Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal (VSM) successfully completed a crucial water conservation project in Chillarwadi, Taluka Shahapur, with the objective of improving water availability for local families and livestock. Constructed in 2022, the project has created a substantial 17,85,000 liters of water storage capacity, offering dependable access to water throughout the year.

With a project cost of ₹1.61 lakhs, fully financed by VSM, this initiative has greatly reduced the daily hardships traditionally faced by the villagers, especially during the summer months. The newly developed water structure now ensures reliable domestic-use water for households and consistent drinking water for cattle, both of which are essential for sustaining rural life.

Additionally, the project has benefited nearly 40 acres of agricultural land by improving soil moisture and supporting healthier crop growth. This enhancement has provided farmers with greater stability and has strengthened the village’s agricultural output.

The Chillarwadi project stands as a testament to VSM’s ongoing commitment to water conservation, environmental protection, and rural development. By capturing and storing rainwater effectively, the initiative has brought lasting positive change to the community.
