Durgapur, Murbad

A Rain Water Harvesting system was implemented at Durgapur, Murbad with the aim of addressing local water scarcity and promoting sustainable water conservation practices. The project focused on collecting and storing rainwater effectively to recharge groundwater levels and improve water security for the local residents.

This initiative was generously supported by Cannon Design and successfully completed in June 2023, with a total expenditure of ₹2,80,350. The system has the capacity to harvest approximately 3,15,000 litres of rainwater annually, significantly contributing to replenishing water resources and reducing dependency on external water supplies.

The project directly benefits 18 households, ensuring better access to water and improving the quality of life for the families in the area. The success of the project was made possible by the collaboration of Cannon Design, the implementation team, and the active involvement of the local community.Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Durgapur, Murbad stands as an impactful example of how small-scale, sustainable initiatives can create meaningful change, fostering environmental awareness and resilience in rural communities.
