Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal has successfully completed an important water conservation initiative at Ganganwadi-1 in Taluka Shahapur. This project, constructed in 2025, was designed to address the village’s pressing need for dependable water sources for both daily use and livestock.
The newly developed structure provides an impressive 99,20,000 litres of water storage capacity, ensuring sustainable water availability even during dry periods. This reservoir will greatly support the community by stabilizing groundwater levels, reducing water scarcity, and improving access to clean water for household purposes.
The project was completed at a total cost of ₹6.44 lakhs, made possible through generous support and community participation. The conserved water will also benefit the surrounding agricultural land, improving soil moisture and supporting better farm productivity across the local cultivation zone.
Along with agricultural gains, the project directly supports domestic water needs and cattle, offering a reliable lifeline to families and farmers who depend on livestock for their livelihood. This initiative strengthens long-term rural sustainability and enhances the overall quality of life in Ganganwadi-1.
