Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully executed a water conservation project at Gavhali village in Murbad Taluka during the year 2024, with the goal of enhancing local water resources and ensuring sustainable water availability for both domestic use and livestock. This initiative addressed the challenges of seasonal water scarcity, which had previously impacted the daily lives of villagers and the health of their cattle.
Through careful planning and implementation, the project increased the water storage capacity of the local water body to an estimated 60,00,000 liters. This conserved water now provides a dependable source for household needs, reducing the time and effort required to collect water from distant locations. Additionally, the availability of water has significantly improved conditions for cattle, supporting the livelihoods of farming families and enhancing overall livestock health.
The project has also contributed to groundwater recharge, improving the water table in the surrounding area and supporting sustainable agriculture. The initiative was financed by Kamakshi, whose generous support made this impactful project possible. Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal remains committed to promoting sustainable water management and environmental conservation in rural communities.
