Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully implemented a vital water conservation project at Kasara village in Shahapur Taluka in the year 2023. This initiative was undertaken to strengthen a key water body that plays a crucial role in meeting the drinking water needs of the village and ensuring long-term water security for the local population.
The project has created an estimated water storage capacity of 15,74,000 liters, significantly enhancing the reliability of the lake throughout the year. This lake is of exceptional importance, as a 15,000-liter drinking water filtration plant is located on it. The entire drinking water supply for Kasara village depends on this source, making its conservation essential for public health and daily life.
By improving water retention and reducing seasonal shortages, the project ensures uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water, especially during summer months when water levels typically decline. The initiative was financed by BJS, whose support enabled the timely completion of the project and strengthened community confidence in sustainable water management practices.
Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal remains committed to protecting and rejuvenating critical water resources that directly impact village livelihoods and well-being.
