A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully implemented at Kothare Village, Shahapur, aimed at addressing the community’s water needs and promoting sustainable water conservation practices. The project was designed to collect and store rainwater effectively, helping recharge the groundwater and improve year-round water availability for the residents.
Generously sponsored by Vishajit Namjoshi, the project was completed in April 2024, with a total expenditure of ₹2,71,750. With a storage and recharge capacity of approximately 3,82,500 litres of rainwater annually, the system significantly enhances the local water table and ensures a more dependable supply of water.
This initiative directly benefits 150 households, positively impacting the lives of many families by easing their daily struggle for water and fostering environmental sustainability in the village. The collaboration between the donor, implementing team, and the active support of the community ensured the project’s timely and effective completion.
Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Kothare Village stands as a remarkable example of how individual generosity and collective efforts can create long-term solutions for communities, paving the way for a more water-secure and sustainable future.
