In a significant stride toward sustainable water conservation, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully completed a Rainwater Harvesting Project at Kushtrharog Hospital, Shantivan Ashram, Panvel, in June 2025. This initiative, generously supported by Mahindra Finance, aimed at addressing water scarcity and promoting eco-friendly practices within healthcare institutions. The project resulted in the conservation of approximately 798.75 litres of rainwater per year—an invaluable contribution to local water availability, especially during dry months.
With an expenditure of ₹3,36,595, the system has been meticulously designed to maximize harvesting efficiency and long-term impact. This initiative directly benefits around 150 individuals, including patients, staff, and surrounding communities, ensuring access to a reliable water source. Now marked as ‘Completed’, the project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between the corporate sector and grassroots NGOs in the fight against water scarcity. It not only meets immediate utility needs but also educates and inspires the community on the importance of natural resource management.
