Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, Thane, successfully completed the Mahaj Check Dam in Taluka Murbad with the generous support of Sterling Engineering. The project was completed on 26 May at a total cost of ₹517,425. The check dam has a length of 15 meters and a height of 3.2 meters, providing a durable and effective structure for rainwater harvesting and water conservation.

The Mahaj Check Dam has an estimated water storage capacity of 3,000,000 liters, helping to improve groundwater recharge and ensure a dependable water supply for the surrounding area. By capturing and retaining rainwater, the project reduces water runoff, supports sustainable agriculture, and enhances water availability during dry seasons, benefiting both farming activities and local communities.
