Manyachi Wadi

Manyachi Wadi

Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully executed a vital water conservation project in Manyachi Wadi, Taluka Murbad, in the year 2021. This initiative was undertaken to address the growing water scarcity in the region and to ensure reliable access to water for the village community throughout the year.

Under the leadership and funding support of VSM, a robust water storage structure was developed with an impressive capacity of 53,63,000 liters. This reservoir has become an essential resource for the villagers, ensuring a consistent supply of water for domestic use as well as cattle management, which forms a crucial part of the local livelihood.

The project has directly enabled irrigation across 50 acres of agricultural land, allowing farmers to cultivate their crops more efficiently and confidently. With improved water availability, agricultural productivity has increased, reducing dependency on unpredictable rainfall and helping farmers secure stable incomes. The stored water has also eased the daily water needs of households, bringing long-term relief to women and families who previously struggled during dry periods.

This project demonstrates VSM’s commitment to sustainable rural development and water security.
