Mhadas

Mhadas

The village of Mhadas in Murbad Taluka has been severely affected by recurring water scarcity, impacting daily household needs, cattle care, and agricultural activities. Recognizing the urgent need for a reliable water source, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with the generous financial support of Mahindra Finance, undertook a significant water conservation project in 2025.

The project focused on constructing a strong and sustainable water storage structure with an estimated capacity of 37,50,000 liters. This reservoir now provides a dependable year-round water supply, easing the burden on villagers who formerly struggled during dry seasons. With improved water availability, the community has gained better access for domestic use as well as essential water for cattle, which play an important role in rural livelihoods.

This initiative has also helped improve groundwater recharge and enhance environmental balance in the region. While cultivation area data is not specified, the increased water supply is expected to support future agricultural development and improve the overall resilience of the village.

The project marks a meaningful step toward strengthening the socio-economic stability of the Mhadas community.
