Musai Wadi , Shahapur

The Musai Wadi Check Dam, located in the Shahapur region, stands as a testament to sustainable water management. With a total water storage capacity of 76,230,000 liters, the dam has significantly contributed to improving the water availability in the surrounding areas. This project, sponsored by Rotary Kandivli, aims to address the water scarcity challenges faced by local farmers and communities. The dam’s strategic location ensures that the stored water will support agricultural activities, irrigation, and daily water needs for the people in the area.

The project’s construction was completed in May 2024, and it was funded with a budget of 6.62 lakhs. The completion of this check dam is expected to enhance the local ecosystem, stabilize groundwater levels, and ensure a reliable source of water throughout the year. While the specific area under cultivation and the exact number of beneficiaries are still being determined, it is anticipated that a significant number of local farmers and residents will benefit from this infrastructure, ensuring long-term improvements to their livelihoods and community well-being. The dam also aligns with the broader goals of sustainable development, fostering resilience in agriculture and local economies.

With the support of Rotary Kandivli, this project is a prime example of how collaborative efforts can create lasting impacts in rural areas. The dam’s successful completion and the expected benefits mark a significant milestone in the development of the Shahapur region.
