Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal (VSM) successfully completed a vital water conservation initiative in Nadgaon, Taluka Shahapur, to address the village’s persistent water challenges. Completed in 2021, the project has created a substantial 34,36,000 liters of water storage capacity, ensuring reliable water supply for the community throughout the year.
Executed at a cost of ₹2.36 lakhs, fully financed by VSM, the project has significantly improved the quality of life for villagers. The enhanced water availability now supports domestic use, providing households with a dependable supply of clean water, and ensures drinking water for cattle, safeguarding the livelihoods of families dependent on livestock.
In addition, the project benefits around 50 acres of agricultural land by improving soil moisture retention and supporting healthier crop growth. This has enhanced agricultural productivity, strengthened the local economy, and contributed to sustainable rural development.
The Nadgaon project is a prime example of VSM’s commitment to water conservation, ecological restoration, and community empowerment. By capturing and storing rainwater effectively, the initiative has brought long-term, positive change to the village.
