Narayan Gaon, Shahapur

In 2020, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal (VSM) successfully completed a vital water conservation project in Narayan Gaon, Taluka Shahapur, aimed at providing long-term water security to the village community. The initiative was designed to address recurring water scarcity during summer months and ensure reliable access to water for domestic needs and cattle.

With an estimated storage capacity of 25,62,000 liters, the structure created under this project has significantly strengthened the local water ecosystem. The construction, completed at a cost of ₹2.03 lakhs, was fully financed by VSM, reflecting the organization’s commitment to sustainable rural development. The project now supports approximately 50 acres of cultivation land, enabling farmers to sustain their crops more effectively and improving agricultural productivity.

Beyond farming, this water resource has also become a dependable source for domestic use and cattle, reducing the hardships faced by villagers—especially women—who previously had to walk long distances to fetch water. The project has improved the overall quality of life and contributed to long-term environmental resilience in the region.
