Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal (VSM) successfully implemented a major water conservation project in Padwalpada-3, Taluka Shahapur, to address the village’s growing water needs. Completed in 2022, the project has created a substantial 82,27,000 liters of water storage capacity, offering long-term relief and stability to the local community.
The project was completed at a cost of ₹7.20 lakhs, fully financed by VSM. With this enhanced water storage, villagers now have reliable access to domestic-use water, significantly reducing the struggles faced during dry months. The structure also ensures a steady supply of drinking water for cattle, strengthening the livelihood of families dependent on livestock.
Furthermore, the project has improved agricultural prospects across 30 acres of cultivation land. The increased soil moisture supports healthier crop growth, boosts productivity, and helps farmers sustain their livelihood with greater confidence.
The Padwalpada-3 initiative stands as a testament to VSM’s commitment to rural development and environmental conservation. By capturing and conserving rainwater, the project has brought sustainable change and improved the quality of life for the entire village.
