Parhe, Murbad

In 2023, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with the support of BJS, implemented a highly impactful water conservation project in Parhe village, Taluka Murbad. The primary objective of the initiative was to enhance water availability for agriculture and improve the overall livelihood of the local farming community. By constructing a rainwater storage structure, VSM aimed to ensure that farmers receive sufficient water even beyond the monsoon period.

The project offers an impressive water storage capacity of 27,23,000 liters, making it a dependable source for post-monsoon agricultural activities. This initiative is particularly beneficial for farmers who predominantly grow paddy. With reliable water access made possible through this project, they can now successfully cultivate 2 to 3 additional crops after completing paddy farming, significantly improving productivity and income throughout the year.

Beyond supporting agriculture, the structure also contributes to groundwater recharge, ensuring long-term sustainability and environmental balance in the region. This project stands as an example of how efficient water management can transform rural economies and uplift communities.
