The village of Pradhanpada-2 in Murbad Taluka has long faced challenges due to inadequate water availability for domestic needs, cattle, and agriculture. To create a sustainable and dependable water source, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with generous financial support from Amogh Chemicals, undertook a major water conservation project in 2023.

The project involved the construction of a large water storage structure with an impressive estimated capacity of 1,17,60,000 liters. This reservoir has dramatically improved water access throughout the year, providing relief to villagers who earlier struggled during dry seasons. With consistent water supply, nearly 30 acres of agricultural land now receive reliable irrigation, enabling farmers to cultivate more crops, improve yields, and enhance household income.

Beyond agriculture, the project has significantly improved domestic water availability and provided a dependable source of water for cattle, which is vital for sustaining rural livelihoods. The recharge of groundwater levels and increased water retention have also strengthened the ecological balance in the region.
