In 2023, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with the support of BJS, successfully implemented a major water conservation initiative in Shrivali village, Taluka Murbad. The construction of a strong and sustainable check dam brought a transformative change to the community, addressing both drinking water needs and agricultural challenges.

The check dam has an impressive water storage capacity of 39,05,000 liters, ensuring reliable availability of water throughout the year. Its construction has played a crucial role in solving the village’s drinking water problem, providing clean and accessible water to households even during the dry season. Families that previously struggled with water scarcity now enjoy a dependable supply close to home.

In addition to domestic benefits, the project has greatly supported local agriculture. With adequate stored water, farmers are now able to take additional crops after the monsoon, leading to improved productivity, enhanced food security, and better income stability. The structure also aids groundwater recharge, contributing to long-term sustainability and ecological balance in the region.
