Talavali(Baragaon)

In 2021, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal undertook a significant water conservation initiative in Talavali (Baragaon), Taluka Murbad. With an aim to strengthen local water security, the project created an impressive 24,800,000 litres of water storage capacity. Supported and financed by VSM, the project was completed at a cost of ₹17.3 lakhs.

The intervention has brought remarkable transformation to the village. Groundwater levels have risen substantially, ensuring consistent water availability throughout the year. Local borewells and wells, which once faced seasonal depletion, now maintain improved water levels, providing relief to households and farmers alike.

Around 10 acres of cultivation land has benefited directly from the project. Farmers, who earlier depended solely on monsoon rains, can now confidently grow 2 to 3 crops annually, improving their livelihoods and enhancing the village’s overall agricultural productivity. This has strengthened food security and boosted economic stability in the community.

The Talavali (Baragaon) project stands as a successful model of sustainable rural development through collective effort and scientific water management.
