The Check Dam located at Vaishakhare – Temple, Murbad, stands as a vital resource for the surrounding community. Designed to address water scarcity issues, this project has successfully stored a substantial 21,200,000 litres of water. This reservoir not only secures water availability but also plays a critical role in improving the agricultural prospects of the region, although the specific area under cultivation has yet to be documented.
The initiative was generously sponsored by Amogh Chemicals, a key donor committed to community development and sustainability. With a total budget of ₹7.77 lakhs, the project was executed efficiently, creating a significant local impact. One of its noteworthy contributions was providing employment to nine individuals as laborers during the construction phase, enhancing their livelihoods.
The construction of the dam was completed in May 2024, marking a milestone in the region’s development efforts. Currently, the project holds a completed status, symbolizing the community’s achievement in fostering water conservation and employment. This check dam will undoubtedly serve as a lasting resource for the region, ensuring water security and supporting local initiatives for years to come.
