Vandre Khor -3

The village of Vandre Khor-3 in Shahapur Taluka has experienced persistent water scarcity, affecting household needs, cattle care, and the overall livelihood of the community. To create a sustainable solution and improve water availability, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, with the generous financial support of Rotary Limaye, undertook a significant water conservation project in 2025.

Central to the initiative is a robust water storage structure with an estimated capacity of 1,63,00,000 liters. This large reservoir now ensures dependable water supply throughout the year, easing the burden on villagers who previously struggled during dry seasons. With improved water access, nearly 5.36 acres of cultivation land can now be supported, helping farmers carry out agricultural activities more efficiently and improve their income prospects.

The project has also strengthened domestic water availability and ensured sufficient water for cattle, which play a vital role in sustaining rural livelihoods. Additionally, the improved groundwater recharge and enhanced ecological balance have made the region more resilient to seasonal water crises.

This initiative has significantly improved living conditions and strengthened the socio-economic stability of Vandre Khor-3.
