Vandre Khor 5, Shahapur

Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully implemented a water conservation project at Vandre Khor 5 village, located in Shahapur Taluka, with the objective of addressing water scarcity and improving water availability for daily needs. Completed in 2025, this project was made possible with the generous financial support of Rotary Limaye.

The structure created under this initiative has an estimated water storage capacity of 13,200,000 liters, enabling effective rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge. The total project cost was ₹3.91 lakhs, reflecting a cost-effective and sustainable approach to rural water management. This intervention has significantly strengthened the village’s water security, especially during the dry months.

As a result of the project, reliable water is now available for domestic use as well as for cattle, reducing the hardship faced by villagers and minimizing dependence on external water sources. The improved availability of water has positively impacted daily life, livestock care, and overall village resilience. The project also contributes to environmental conservation by promoting efficient use of rainwater and restoring local water resources.
