A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully installed at Z.P. School Aavalpada 2, Shahapur to tackle water scarcity and promote sustainable water management in the region. The project focused on capturing and storing rainwater to recharge the groundwater table and ensure a reliable supply of water for the local community.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support of Sulbha Malve and Madhavi Barje and was completed in June 2024, with a total expenditure of ₹2,44,000. The system has the capacity to harvest approximately 3,15,000 litres of rainwater annually, contributing significantly to water conservation efforts and environmental sustainability in the area.

The project benefits 52 households, improving access to water and enhancing the quality of life for the residents. The successful execution of the project was a result of the combined efforts of the donors, the implementing team, and the active participation of the local community.Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Z.P. School Aavalpada 2 stands as an inspiring example of how community-focused initiatives and individual contributions can create lasting, positive change and foster environmental responsibility.
