Rainwater Harvesting Project at Z.P. School Balegaon, Murbad
Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal, Thane, is committed to sustainable water conservation, ensuring access to clean water for rural communities. As part of this mission, we have undertaken a Rainwater Harvesting Project completed in the year Nov 2024 at Z.P. School Balegaon, Murbad, with generous support from Mahindra Finance. This initiative will directly benefit 120 students and staff, providing a reliable water source for their daily needs.
The project harnesses rainwater from the rooftop directing it into a structured harvesting system to maximize storage and usability. Additionally, the catchment area extends to nearby houses, expanding the reach of this sustainable solution. The system has an impressive potential of 6.18 Lac litres per year, significantly reducing dependency on external water sources and ensuring year-round availability.
With an contractor expenditure of 3.68 Lac, this investment will create a lasting impact on the community, addressing water scarcity and promoting environmental awareness among young learners. By implementing this initiative, we are not only providing a sustainable water source but also fostering a culture of conservation and self-sufficiency. Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal remains dedicated to empowering rural areas through such meaningful interventions, ensuring that every drop of rain is utilized effectively for a better tomorrow.
