Rainwater Harvesting Project at Z.P. School Dhasai
Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal Thane, in collaboration with Mahindra Finance, has successfully implemented a Rainwater Harvesting project completed in the year December 2024 at Z.P. School Dhasai – New Building, Shahapur . This initiative is a significant step towards sustainable water management, benefiting 178 students and staff.
With an approximate rooftop area the project utilizes the school’s structure as a catchment area to collect and store rainwater efficiently. This setup has the potential to harvest 3.93 lac litres of water annually, reducing dependency on external water sources and ensuring a sustainable supply for educational purposes.
The total contractor expenditure of the project stands at ₹3.90 lac covering essential infrastructure like filtration units, storage tanks, and pipelines. This initiative not only provides clean water for daily use but also serves as an educational model, encouraging young minds to adopt eco-friendly practices.
