A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully implemented at Z.P. School Jambhulvad, Shahapur to address water scarcity challenges in the area and promote sustainable water conservation practices. The project aimed to capture rainwater effectively, recharge the groundwater table, and ensure a steady supply of water for the local community.

Generously sponsored by Praj Foundation, the project was completed in March 2024, with a total expenditure of ₹2,77,250. Designed to optimize rainwater collection, the system has the capacity to harvest approximately 3,03,750 litres of rainwater annually, contributing meaningfully to the conservation of water resources and environmental well-being.

This initiative benefits 105 households, improving their access to water and enhancing their quality of life. The project’s success was made possible through the partnership between Praj Foundation, the implementation team, and the enthusiastic support of the local residents.

Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Z.P. School Jambhulvad, Shahapur stands as an example of how community-oriented sustainable initiatives can bring about lasting positive change, fostering resilience and environmental stewardship in rural areas.
