Z. P. School Kharade
A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully implemented at Z. P. School Kharade, aimed at addressing the water scarcity issues faced by the local community and encouraging sustainable water management practices. This initiative helps conserve precious rainwater, recharge groundwater levels, and ensure long-term water availability.
Supported by the generous sponsorship of Trafigura, the project was completed in February 2025, with a total expenditure of ₹3,94,050. The system has the capacity to collect and save approximately 4,11,750 litres of rainwater annually, which significantly contributes to improving the water table and providing a dependable source of water.
The project benefits 123 Students, positively impacting the lives of families in the area by improving access to water resources and reducing their dependence on irregular or distant sources. The success of the project was made possible through the collaboration between Trafigura, the implementing team, and the active participation of the local residents.
Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Z. P. School Kharade serves as a model of how community-driven, sustainable initiatives can bring about lasting change and promote environmental conservation.
