In a significant step toward sustainable water management and rural development, Vasundhara Sanjivani Mandal successfully completed a Rain Water Harvesting project at Zilla Parishad School, Shilottar, Shahapur in July 2025. This impactful initiative was generously sponsored by Mahindra Finance, demonstrating their commitment to environmental responsibility and community upliftment. With an investment of ₹2,92,345, the project has been engineered to conserve an estimated 2,25,000 litres of water annually, directly benefiting 66 individuals—including students, staff, and local residents.
This sustainable water source ensures consistent availability of water for basic needs and hygiene, especially critical in semi-rural and water-scarce regions like Shahapur. The project not only addresses the pressing issue of water scarcity but also serves as an educational model for young students to understand the importance of water conservation and eco-conscious living. Now marked as “Completed”, this initiative stands as a testament to what collaborative efforts between NGOs, donors, and local institutions can achieve for environmental sustainability and community well-being.
