A Rain Water Harvesting system was successfully implemented at Z.P. School Wadawali, Murbad, to tackle the ongoing challenge of water scarcity and promote sustainable water conservation practices in the area. The project was designed to efficiently collect and store rainwater, helping to recharge the groundwater and ensure a steady supply of water for the local community throughout the year.
This meaningful initiative was generously sponsored by Mahindra Finance and completed in March 2025, with a total expenditure of ₹3,59,000. The system has the capacity to harvest approximately 3,24,000 litres of rainwater annually, contributing significantly to improving water security and supporting environmental sustainability in the region.
The project benefits 150 households, enhancing their quality of life by providing more reliable access to water and reducing dependence on dwindling natural sources. The successful implementation of this project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Mahindra Finance, the dedicated implementation team, and the active involvement of the local community.
Now completed, the Rain Water Harvesting project at Z.P. School Wadawali stands as a shining example of how thoughtful interventions and partnerships can create lasting, positive change, building resilience and sustainability in rural communities.
